Cake Care & Storage

Sweet Custom Cakes are baked fresh to order and best consumed within 1-3 days of receiving them.

Cake Care

  • We recommend enjoying your cake at room temperature. 
  • Sweet custom cakes are best stored in your fridge until 1-2 hours before serving.
  • Leftover cake can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can also freeze your cake for up to 2 months. Defrost your cake in the fridge overnight, then bring your cake to room temperature before serving.

Cake Display

When your cake is on display, please keep it out of direct sunlight and heat. Ensure your cake is on a safe, secure, and flat surface. If you have any questions or concerns about the display or storage of your cake, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Cookie Storage

Our signature vanilla sugar cookies have a shelf life of up to 3 weeks. Keep your sugar cookies in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and heat.

CAKE CUTTING GUIDE

  • Step one – Remove any decorations on the top or sides of the cake. If you have a two-tiered cake, remove the middle cake board and supporting dowels before slicing the base layer.
  • Step two – Start with an Aerial view of your cake, gently marking the cut lines across the top of your cake.
  • Step three – Slice vertically down the entire length of the cake with a sharp knife. Separate the cut slice of cake by gently placing a chopping board against the cake and lowering the slice flat down on the board.
  • Step four – You can then cut multiple, evenly spaced vertical cuts across the cake. For ‘coffee’ portions space 1” apart. For ‘dessert’ portions, cut 2” apart. You can then cut the middle cake layer horizontally to double your portions or make each slice smaller.
